car sharing OccasionalCar slashed it’s rates this week with a new rate plan featuring hourly car rental rates of $4.99 per hour and includes 150 free miles per reservation or per day. The daily rate on the Simple plan is $39.99 per day. (gas and insurance are always included in the rates) If you exceed 150 miles it is an additional 24 cents per mile driven.

These rates are available 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. The Simple plan has a monthly fee of $4.99 per month.

Existing members can switch to the Simple plan by sending an email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Put “Switch me to the Simple Plan” in the subject line and include your name and member number in the body of the email.

This plan is great. It works out to be much cheaper than going to a rental car company like Hertz for the day. AND the car is right down the street!
